Vulnerability
Give Generously
John RothSeptember 11, 202233:36
2 Corinthians 8Freely responding to what we have received shapes the Christian life, so generosity flows from gratitude rather than obligation and is offered without calculation. True generosity is full-hearted and sometimes sacrificial, given even amid need, because followers of Christ first give themselves to the Lord and then use their resources for others. Vulnerability and interdependence deepen community when people both receive and return help, creating a rhythmic exchange that reflects Jesus, who though rich became poor so others might be enriched. Generosity is not a transaction for reward but an echo of God’s free gift, and no one can outgive the Giver.
