The Big Relief
Imputation
John RothAugust 10, 202538:39
Romans 4 : 1 - 16Righteousness is credited to sinners from Christ and not earned by works, so believers receive Jesus’ merit, status, and identity as a gift. Human efforts at significance fail because they look inward for worth, but the gospel imputes worth from outside by grace. Faith is the means of receiving this gift, not a human achievement, and it simply trusts God’s promises. This truth frees people from anxious status-seeking, enables risky service and generous living, and makes belonging and security available to anyone who believes, regardless of background or performance.
