The Big Relief
Favor

Romans 15Welcome relieves the ache of rejection and contempt and proves that belonging precedes behavior. God’s favor greets people before they earn it and delights in them, forgiving and restoring the weak and outcast. Jesus makes the first move, welcoming sinners and bearing reproach so we might be reconciled. The church mirrors that welcome by receiving others as Christ received us, replacing contempt with respect, compassion, and unity. When we practice gracious welcome, we disarm hostility, repair relationships, and testify to the gospel’s power to transform communities from the inside out.
