Anger

John RothNovember 3, 202433:37

Matthew 21: 12 - 17

Righteous anger burns against anything that blocks people from God, while human anger usually springs from vanity, exhaustion, or wounded pride and distorts judgment. Jesus expresses anger when walls, rituals, or power games push the vulnerable away, and he turns that zeal into healing, not revenge. Anger that clings corrodes the body, clouds vision, and turns neighbors into objects, but surrendered anger becomes a call to remove barriers, welcome children, and make access to grace simple and humble. Churches and followers must dismantle stumbling blocks, model mercy over power, and offer Jesus as the one who takes our blame so nothing remains between people and God.
