Repairing Relationships
John RothMay 14, 202333:42
Proverbs 10 - 27Relationships are messy but remain the core of human life, so their repair matters. Concealing ill will, gossip, and slander destroy trust and fracture community, while speaking truth privately to the person involved prevents triangulation and escalation. Superiority and belittling fuel lasting offense, but humility and seeing others as equals reduce anger. Genuine repair requires sacrificial love that values the person more than the offense, and forgiveness often depends on receiving Christ’s forgiving love so we can offer what we cannot muster alone. True fellowship safeguards names, seeks reconciliation, and grows through vulnerability, sacrifice, and the patient work of God.
