Santa Clause
In the pit of suffering God visits and secures hope with outrageous promises that transcend human timing and circumstances. His covenantal faithfulness does not depend on our performance or immediate perception, and divine timing measures beyond our clocks. The promised Righteous Branch comes to provide objective righteousness and an enduring kingship and priesthood in Christ. False pieties and quick comforts distance us from real compassion, while honest presence with the hurting witnesses to God’s fidelity. The certainty of God’s word is as numerous as the stars and grains of sand, so faith trusts his promises even when hope feels scarce.
