Simply Jesus
The Paradox Of Sacrificial Love

Mark 8: 22 - 38Putting yourself first leads to death while dying to self opens the way to true life, because following Christ requires surrender, not self-improvement. The cross reveals that righteousness and salvation come from outside ourselves, so humility and dependence on Jesus replace self-reliance. True greatness looks like service, weakness becomes strength when given to Christ, and loss for the sake of the gospel results in eternal gain. Discipleship demands counting the cost, unhooking the momentum of selfish attachments, and daily willingness to take up the cross so that in surrender we are reborn and empowered to live for God rather than for our own comfort.
