The Disciple Whom Jesus Loved

John RothOctober 17, 202129:14

John 21: 20 - 25

Identity does not come from status contests, achievements, or comparisons but from being the one whom Jesus loves, which alone grounds worth and belonging. Being beloved frees people from rivalry and insecurity and shapes a community that includes rather than excludes, welcomes sinners, and resists games of prestige. Belovedness compels honest witness: simply sharing what we have seen of Christ’s love transforms lives. When the church lives as a fellowship of the beloved, generosity, courage, and compassion replace competition and reveal the gospel to a watching world.
