The Blessed Life
Blessed Are Those Who Hunger And Thirst
John RothAugust 16, 202036:27
Matthew 5: 6Longing for righteousness is a vital hunger that signals spiritual life and points us toward right relationships with God and others. Righteousness means lovingkindness, justice, and doing right by the vulnerable, not personal credit or power, and it forms the highest value on which well-ordered life rests. God meets that hunger by entering history, bearing wrongness and restoring people through steadfast love. True righteousness is restorative and communal, shown by serving the marginalized and suffering for goodness rather than coercing outcomes. Those who thirst for this way participate in God’s work of reconciliation and justice in the world.
