Shift
From Consumer to Steward

2 Corinthians 9: 6 - 11Generosity reorients life toward God’s ownership and away from possessive self-interest, because everything is entrusted to us to manage, not to possess. Giving reflects a heart that has first received Christ, and cheerful, sacrificial generosity transforms communities more than measured tithes or reluctant obligation. True security comes from being owned by God, not from accumulating goods, and stewardship requires surrender, humility, and risk for the good of others. Consumerism breeds selfishness, control, and division, but a stewardly life models Christ’s gift, advances justice, and makes the church a reconciling, bridge-building presence in the world.
