Spring Cleaning
Good but not Great
John RothApril 19, 202032:54
Luke 9: 57 - 62Eliminating good things makes room for the greatest thing, Jesus, who requires first place and a willingness to surrender comforts, honorable duties, and family pressures that crowd true discipleship. Following him means steady focus toward his costly mission, not adding him to a crowded life, and it often calls for losing prized goods so a new affection for Christ can expel old attachments. Simplicity and sacrifice reveal what truly matters, the pandemic exposes many non-essentials, and only when Jesus becomes our all do we truly gain everything we need.
