Matthew 6: 25 - 33Chronic guilt traps people in a false verdict of themselves even after sins are confessed, but Christ’s one complete sacrifice removes condemnation for those in him and ends any need to pay or punish for sin. Feelings often lie and should not override God’s promises, so believers preach forgiveness to themselves daily and live in the reality that their sins are remembered no more. Trying to beat sin by self‑punishment only deepens bondage and increases relapse, while trusting grace lets confession lead to freedom and renewal and frees us to serve others from gratitude rather than from self‑focused remorse.
