The Religion of Romance
John RothFebruary 9, 202037:27
1 Corinthians 6: 12 - 19Hope shapes life when it rests in God's eternal promises rather than in the momentary satisfactions of romance, status, or possessions. People turn relationships into idols when they expect one person to supply identity, meaning, and salvation, but no human can bear that weight. True love is a committed promise and a pattern of self‑giving that reflects Christ, and marriage or singleness only matter insofar as they serve God’s kingdom. Christians live now in the light of the not‑yet kingdom, finding identity and fulfillment in Christ so they can give love, serve others, and endure worldly troubles with joy.
