How To Be Brave
Be Anxious for Nothing
John RothAugust 6, 201741:20
Philippians 4: 4 - 7Peace comes when Christ's presence replaces fear, because Jesus is in the boat with us and cares for our storms. The Christian life includes trials, yet bravery means acting despite fear, casting anxieties on God, and trusting his promises and future plans. False evidence, fickle emotions, faulty experiences, and fictitious evaluations do not determine reality. Churches and believers shrink when they prioritize comfort and budgets over mission, but faith summons courage to obey God's call. Reverent awe of God outweighs lesser fears and enables faithful witness, endurance, and the bold hope that God will bring his work to completion.
