A Different Calling in a Dark World

1 Peter 2: 9 - 17Belonging to God defines identity before action, so Christians are first a chosen people and only then called to live accordingly. Faith is fundamentally communal because the New Testament describes us as a corporate priesthood that represents God to others and others to God. Believers are resident aliens who stand countercultural, refuse violent or exploitative practices, serve the vulnerable, include the marginalized, and honor life and marriage. When persecuted, respond with blessing, service, and forgiveness rather than retaliation. Knowing whose you are reshapes what you do, and Jesus’ self‑giving life and wounds are the pattern and power that heal and form the church.
